As we scrolled through our social media feeds during November, we were excited to see how many of our customers hosted a Halloween candy buy-back event this year. Events like these are easy, fun and rewarding for both you and your patients. Today, we’re sharing one practice’s story on how they hosted a fun event involving the whole community.

Recently, we spoke with Practice Relations Manager at Virginia-based Ashburn Orthodontics, Sunny Motes, about the practice’s very first candy buy-back program.

Dr. Sahira Kortam and the amazing team at Ashburn Orthodontics decided to treat their patients and their community with some holiday cheer!

“Our patients got to have a little fun with us outside of just having their monthly adjustment and they got to help with a charitable cause by donating their candy,” Sunny stated.

Treats for Everyone

A staff member collects goodies to donate to local food bank.

Recognizing the importance of having a strong social media presence, Sunny used Facebook and Instagram to heavily promote the event. Ashburn Orthodontics sent email blasts and featured the program information on the office television. In addition, they promoted the event at local schools during National Orthodontic Health Month.

The Halloween candy buy-back program allowed Ashburn Orthodontics to expand its reach to potential patients.

“We had fun with our patients as well as people within our community who may not necessarily be patients. Plus, we got the opportunity to donate all that candy to our local food bank.”

At the end of their event, they collected and donated 300 pounds of candy!

Rewarding Patients Beyond the Holidays

Proud of their deep commitment to service, the staff at Ashburn Orthodontics values rewarding their loyal patients and being active in their community.

“We host an annual Patient Appreciation Party to thank our patients for allowing us to treat them and to be a part of their family,” says Sunny. ”

“Dr. Kortam is passionate about education and supporting our local schools. We often attend school events and community events, including 5K’s,” she added.

Are you hosting any in-office marketing events in the near future? Be sure to let your patients know in advance by sending Postcards or Folding Cards for a holiday open house. And don’t forget to have plenty of giveaways so your patients have something to show off and remind them why they love visiting your office.

Well done to the team at Ashburn Orthodontics! We’re thrilled their first event was a success. What types of events does your practice host throughout the year? We’d love to hear your stories and tips in the comments.
