For the fifth year in a row, SmartPractice was recognized as one of Arizona’s Healthy Worksites.
The Healthy Arizona Worksite Award recognizes employers that are making efforts to positively affect the health and well-being of their employees, their families and their community by implementing comprehensive worksite wellness strategies. The minimum qualifications to be considered for this award include attending the Healthy Arizona Worksite Program training and developing a plan to improve employee health and safety.
“We are so honored to be recognized for the 5th year in a row as one of Arizona’s healthy workplaces,” said Michelle Shaw, VP of Human Resources at SmartPractice. “Thank you to The County for the acknowledgment. We hope to continue our high standards and ensure total population health for our employees and their families.”
SmartPractice was awarded a Platinum Level Award.
According to Healthy Arizona Worksites, a Platinum Level Award is awarded to businesses making an impact both within and beyond their walls addressing one or more of the many health challenges impacting communities across the state. Platinum level awardees have demonstrated data driven programming and are leveraging cross-sector collaborations or partnerships improving the health, well-being and equity of their community.
SmartPractice received this recognition by supporting employee health in the following ways:
- On-site wellness clinic, counselor, gym & fitness classes, cafe and therapy dogs
- Offers diet, exercise & cooking classes/challenges, preventative health exams, skin screenings, flu immunizations and access to a wealth of health information
SmartPractice is proud that our wellness program is not just a program offered to employees but is truly a part of our culture and how we define ourselves as an organization.
The Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP) is a public health initiative that has been developed through a partnership between the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health. This statewide program provides Arizona employers with training, technical assistance, tools, and resources to design, implement, and evaluate worksite wellness initiatives. HAWP also works to create linkages between Arizona businesses engaging in healthy worksite efforts so they can learn from each other and share experiences.
