World Oral Health Day is a global event designed to bring attention to the importance of maintaining a healthy mouth at every age. The theme for this year is “Live Mouth Smart,” which puts an emphasis on educating patients about the importance of maintaining good oral health through preventive care and avoiding risk factors.

Launched in 2013 by the FDI World Dental Federation, World Oral Health Day focuses on how oral health is closely tied to overall health and well-being. Dental associations in more than 140 countries adapt the message and promote it through an international awareness campaign created by the FDI.
To honor World Oral Health Day in the United States, the ADA and ADA Foundation are joining forces to provide more than 9,000 Arm & Hammer™ Tooth Tunes Children’s Toothbrushes to organizations committed to improving oral health in underserved countries.
